Holding Tanks
Holding tanks are septic tanks with no outlets (no secondary treatment). These tanks require frequent pumping of wastewater, and may only be installed only when no other options are available. A written variance request must be submitted to the Lee County Board of Health (LCHD) 10 days prior to the next regular meeting on the first Thursday of each month; call LCHD for date and time of next meeting. If holding tank is approved a monitoring and disposal plan must be reviewed yearly.
Permit fee: $200
Yearly inspection fee: $80
LCHD staff will conduct a yearly inspection of the holding tanks to assure owner is in compliance for regular pumping and sewage disposal by a licensed pumper. Evidence of pumping may need to be provided to LCHD.
Fees are determined and reviewed annually by the Lee County Board of Health.
