A priority of Lee County Health Department is to assist persons to remain in their own homes in a safe and healthy environment. The following services are provided in the comfort and familiarity of a person’s home.
Skilled Nursing, Home Health Aides, and Homemakers are available through a variety of payment sources. A Registered Nurse visits with individuals to determine what is right for each person. Payment may be available through Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and private pay. A sliding fee scale is available to assist with private payment. Personal care and homemaking services are funded in part with funds from Milestones Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
Homecare Aides
Homecare Aides provide help with a variety of daily needs, including both personal care and homemaking assistance. A Registerd Nurse provides assesmenet of health needs to determine if a person requires these services to remain in their home safely.
Skilled Nursing
Skilling Nursing is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. LCHD nursing staff provides:
Personal Care
Personal Care such as bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, skin and nail care, dressing, toileting, and assistance with exercise can be provided. These services are usuall provided 2 to 3 times a week.
Homemaking
Homemaking is a service, which assists with light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, essential shopping, laundry, and other similar tasks. These services are available 1 to 2 times a week based on a person's need.
